Our Hiring Process

The Human Resources Department (HR) generally uses the following procedure for filling all open positions:

Completed employment applications are reviewed by HR, and qualified applications are forwarded to the appropriate hiring supervisor. The supervisor reviews these applications and selects applicants to interview. Once the supervisor has completed interviewing, reference checks are conducted on applicants he/she is interested in pursuing. Given reference check information is favorable, an employment offer may be extended. All employment offers are contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug screening. Some positions may require a driving record review and additional background checks.

Background checks and drug screenings are conducted on every new hire. Background checks and drug screenings may also be conducted on every re-hired employee.

Upon initial hire, all employees must complete the Federal I9 form by providing original forms of identification. Already hired? Questions about your paperwork process? Email hr@reston.org.
