Our Hiring Process:
The Reston Association Human Resources Department (HR) generally uses the following procedure for filling all open positions.

Completed employment applications are reviewed by HR staff, and qualified applications are forwarded to the appropriate hiring supervisor. The supervisor reviews these applications and selects applicants to interview. Once the supervisor has completed interviewing, reference checks are conducted on applicants he/she is interested in pursuing.  Given reference check information is favorable, an employment offer may be made. All employment offers are contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug screening. Some positions may require a driving record review and additional background checks.

Background checks and drug screenings may be conducted on every new hire.  Background checks and drug screenings may be conducted on every re-hired employee if that employee has had a break in service of three or more years.

Internship Opportunities:
An internship at the Reston Association (RA) is a pre-arranged, structured learning experience scheduled within a specific time frame.  The experience is relevant to the intern's academic and professional goals, and to the programs and activities of RA.  An internship is performed under the direct supervision of RA staff.  Positions are available throughout the year, based on the projected workload of the host department.

Intern Guidelines:
- Applicants may be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program
- Full-time, part-time, and seasonal positions may be converted to internships
- All RA interns must be at least 16 years old
- To apply for our available internships, please select "Internships" from the drop down list above

Harassment & Discrimination Prevention Training System:
Reston Association is committed to providing a work environment that is free from all forms of discrimination and conduct that can be considered harassing, coercive, or disruptive, including sexual harassment. RA’s policy is to provide ongoing harassment and discrimination prevention training to its employees.  If you have any problems accessing or completing the online Harassment & Discrimination Training, please contact Human Resources at HR@reston.org or (703)435-6504.
